Fing by David Walliams. Ages 7+.
Fing (2019) is a short, funny story about Myrtle — the most spoiled child in the world — and her long-suffering parents. Myrtle wants a Fing. Nobody knows what a Fing is, but she screams until her parents set off to find one. Their quest takes them to a museum and to the deep sea, where they eventually discover what a Fing actually is.
The novel is a fable about greed and the consequences of never saying no. Ideal for younger KS2 readers.
