Before reading: ask pupils to write one sentence about what they imagine the life of a homeless person is like. After reading: write again. Compare the two responses and discuss what has changed and why.
A journalist is writing a human-interest story about Mr Stink after his period in Chloe's shed. Pupils write the interview, capturing Mr Stink's voice, dignity and history. They should not reveal the full truth of his past until the end of the interview.
Pupils write a diary entry from Chloe on the day Mr Stink first moves into the shed. What is she thinking? What is she afraid of? What is she hoping for?
