Pupils research a real British 'worm' or dragon legend (Lambton Worm, Linton Worm, etc.). They present: what the legend says, where it comes from, and what historical event might underlie it.
Fliss needs to warn the teachers that the worm costume is dangerous — but she knows they won't believe her. She must write a note that is taken seriously. Pupils write this note, thinking carefully about what evidence Fliss has and how to present it credibly.
